Registered Veterinary Technician – Emergency & ICU Location: Durham, NC Schedule: Full-Time | 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts Available Hiring Bonus: $2,500 Veterinary Assistant Positions Also Available Bring Your RVT Skills to Emergency & Critical Care Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital (TVRH) is seeking experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency and ICU teams in Durham.

About Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital TVRH provides 24-hour emergency care and specialty referral services in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, neurology, radiology, and rehabilitation.

Our facilities offer advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, including digital radiography, ultrasonography, CT, MRI, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and in-house laboratory services. What We're Looking For

As an ER/ICU RVT, you'll have the opportunity to work with a great deal of autonomy while collaborating closely with our clinicians and support team. We're looking for someone who: Brings a strong foundation of technical and patient care skills while remaining eager to learn Treats patients, clients, and teammates with compassion and respect Works confidently both independently and as part of a team Is willing to step in and support teammates when needed Remains positive and focused in a busy emergency environment Is passionate about emergency medicine and providing exceptional patient care Your Role Our ER and ICU RVTs provide hands-on nursing care to emergency patients and hospitalized patients with acute and chronic illnesses.

You'll work closely with Emergency Clinicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Patient Care Assistants to provide comprehensive care throughout each shift.

Responsibilities include

Triage incoming emergency patients Assess patient stability and obtain vital signs Perform diagnostics and treatments for emergency and hospitalized patients Complete hourly patient assessments and monitoring Recognize and communicate changes in patient status Place peripheral and central catheters Restrain and position patients for examinations and treatments Participate in nursing rounds Set up and administer IV and SQ fluids Maintain urinary catheters Perform bandage application and removal Perform suture and drain removal Calculate injectable medication dosages and CRIs Administer IV, IM, SQ, oral, and ophthalmic medications Maintain appropriate isolation protocols for infectious patients Perform basic wound cleaning and care Administer injectable and inhalant anesthesia Monitor anesthetized patients and maintain accurate monitoring records Provide patient monitoring throughout anesthesia recovery Obtain samples and perform in-house laboratory testing Assist with CPR and emergency procedures Required Education & Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent Current NC RVT license or eligible for registration in North Carolina 2+ years of veterinary assistant or technician experience in a fast-paced veterinary hospital Specialty, emergency, or critical care experience preferred Benefits Competitive compensation + shift differential Health, dental, vision & mental health support Generous PTO, paid parental leave & holidays 401(k) with employer match Annual scrub allowance + free RACE-approved CE Employee pet care & pet insurance discounts Career growth opportunities throughout the CVP network
