Head of Commercial

Our client is an engineering and technical services company specializing in project execution and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for construction projects. They are committed to delivering quality engineering solutions while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and technical excellence.

They are currently seeking a Head of Commercial Department to oversee commercial operations, contract and tender management, business development, financial analysis, and supplier negotiations, with a strong focus on HVAC and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) contracting services.

Job Responsibilities

1. Contract and Tender Management Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, tenders, and commercial agreements. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and client specifications.
2. Market Research and Business Development Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. Support project pricing strategies and cost estimation.
3. Sales and Financial Analysis Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and tender submissions. Analyze project costs, revenue forecasts, and financial performance. Ensure accurate commercial documentation, invoicing, and payment tracking.
4. Supplier and Procurement Management Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to optimize costs and service delivery. Monitor procurement and supply chain activities to support timely project execution. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar commercial role. At least 3 years of middle or senior management experience within an MEP contracting firm, as part of the 10 years of experience. Experience in HVAC and Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services is highly desirable. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, contract management, and financial modelling.
