The Opportunity

Minden Medical Center is hiring a full-time LPN for day shift to support safe, high-quality nursing care. In this role, you’ll work under the delegation/supervision of an RN or licensed provider to help carry out established plans of care and keep patient flow moving.

Key responsibilities include

• Provide direct patient care within LPN scope, including procedures and medication administration
• Communicate with patients/families and the care team to support progress toward goals
• Maintain a safe environment and follow MMC standards, policies, and licensure regulations

Required qualifications:

• Louisiana LPN license (or multistate) and education meeting Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners requirements
• AHA BLS (Med-Surg); de-escalation within 90 days
• Experience: Med-Surg 1 year preferred; ED 1 year hospital nursing preferred or 2 years EMT/Paramedic required; other units as listed

A Typical Shift

As an LPN on day shift, you’ll start by getting report and organizing your priorities around each patient’s presenting concerns and age-specific needs. Throughout the day, you’ll coordinate care with the team, reinforce education with patients and their support people, and keep documentation current. You’ll also stay alert to changes, escalate concerns promptly, and help maintain a culture of safety by following regulatory guidelines, the Code of Conduct, and established Policies and Procedures.
