What You’ll Do

Minden Medical Center is hiring a PRN LPN for night shift coverage. In this role, you support the licensed care team by delivering direct patient care, administering medications and treatments within scope, and helping maintain steady patient flow. You’ll collaborate closely with RNs and other clinicians to follow the established plan of care, communicate patient status, and reinforce a safe, healthy environment.

Required qualifications:

• Education requirements met prior to licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners
• Current Louisiana LPN licensure (or multistate)
• PRN: 1 year experience in the department you’ll work in, or 1 year in a higher level of hospital care
• Med-Surg: AHA BLS required; de-escalation within 90 days of employment
• Experience preferences vary by area (e.g., Med/Surg, ED, ICU/Stepdown, Perinatal, Rehab, Behavioral Health)

A Typical Night

You’ll start your shift by getting report, organizing priorities, and checking in on patients and families to understand immediate needs. Throughout the night, you’ll coordinate care based on presenting complaints and age-specific considerations, while keeping documentation current and communication clear across the team.

Education

is woven into the work—helping patients and significant others understand conditions, medications, and next steps. You’ll consistently reinforce a culture of safety, follow regulatory guidelines, and uphold Minden Medical Center’s Code of Conduct and Policies and Procedures as the unit transitions toward morning handoff.
