Overview
A global leader in precision and medical technology is seeking an accounting specialist to join its Finance & Accounting team in Tokyo. This role centers on Accounts Payable while offering broader exposure across financial operations, including inventory and fixed asset management. Beyond daily accounting tasks, the position focuses on improving process accuracy and efficiency, working closely with both local and international stakeholders.
Requirements
Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including expenses, inventory, fixed assets, leases, and payments Perform journal entries for both domestic and international transactions Support inventory and fixed asset monitoring in collaboration with finance and business teams Review vendor registrations and ensure compliance with internal processes Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and digitalization projects Partner with global IT and finance teams to enhance expense and AP workflows Support cash management activities, including fund transfers and reporting Required Experience 2–3+ years of accounting experience Experience using ERP systems in accounting operations Basic understanding of AP processes and financial controls Intermediate Japanese and English (reading/writing, business communication) Strong Excel skills (e.
g., Pivot Tables, lookup functions) Preferred Experience Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems Exposure to process improvement or project-based work Interest in automation or finance digitalization initiatives Qualifications Bookkeeping Level 2 (Nissho Boki) or higher TOEIC 600+ and JLPT N2 or above CPA, Tax Accountant, or MBA is a plus Profile Detail-oriented with a structured and proactive approach Strong collaboration and communication skills Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Interested in improving processes, not just executing tasks Career Development Opportunity to rotate across finance functions (e.
