Line Cook

Sign of the Buck is a new restaurant and bar located in the heart of historic Gettysburg, occupying the first floor of the newly renovated Union Hotel. The 100-seat establishment features a New American menu inspired by French cuisine and featuring produce and meats from local farms. We are seeking to hire line cooks to grow our staff as we add weekend brunch.

Line Cook: Job Description: Follow recipes, prep lists, and procedures to ensure consistency Communicate with chefs effectively about quality and quantity of outgoing food Assist in the receiving of orders and verify the quality of product coming in Maintain uniform, hygiene, and grooming standards and requirements Ensure equipment is used safely and cleaned and maintained properly Adhere to daily and weekly deep-clean schedule Assist with the development of new menu items and specials Assist with monthly inventory Contribute to the training of new employees Operate with a positive attitude and interact with staff respectfully; lead by example to set and maintain a high level of standards for culinary excellence and mutual trust among fellow staff members Requirements: At least two years of experience in a casual fine dining restaurant Strong communication and organizational skills Preferences: Knowledge of New American and French cuisine a plus Previous experience with the Toast restaurant management system Job Benefits: Competitive pay Full time employees eligible for health insurance and paid time off Employee food and merchandise discount Scheduling that ensures optimal work-life balance, including a 4 day work week Job Type: Full-time Salary: $15.
