Costs Assistant - Part time

Are you a highly organised administrator with a keen eye for detail and an interest in supporting legal aid costs recovery? You will support our specialist Childcare Costs Team, helping to maximise fee recovery, reduce lock-up and maintain strong financial hygiene across Legal Aid matters. Working closely with colleagues in our Childcare and Matrimonial teams, you will play a key role in ensuring costs claims, disbursements and records are accurate and managed efficiently.

The Childcare Costs Team provides a specialist costs service, supporting the financial and operational success of matters across the firm. This will be a part time role, working 19.5 hours per week. There will also be a training and development opportunity for the successful candidate. Prepare and submit Legal Aid Agency payment claims via CCMS Record and manage counsel fees, invoices and disbursements Maintain accurate costs and financial records Support billing activity and prompt fee recovery Work with legal teams to maximise matter value and recovery Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong organisational and prioritisation skills Numerate with good Microsoft Word and Excel skills Professional, confidential and customer-focused approach CCMS, Aderant or time-recording experience desirable Birmingham, located roles, we have a newly refurbished office in the City centre with an on-site café and free use of Gym facilities For Manchester vacancies, we have a City Central site, with newly refurbished facilities Hybrid working 25 days holiday, 2 gift days at Christmas.
