General Maintenance Technician (recruiting from Malta and abroad)
Job description
Our client, Malta's leading hospitality and leisure group, is seeking a skilled and reliable General Maintenance Technician to join its Engineering & Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with strong technical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the property's facilities, ensuring that all guest areas, back-of-house operations, and technical systems are kept in excellent condition.
Working as part of a professional maintenance team, you will contribute to providing a safe, comfortable, and exceptional environment for guests and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, spa facilities, and back-of-house spaces. Responding promptly to maintenance requests while ensuring minimal disruption to guests and daily operations. Performing basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, tiling, and general building repair works.
Identifying potential maintenance issues proactively and reporting or resolving them before they impact operations. Assisting with refurbishment projects, equipment installations, inspections, and continuous property improvements. Maintaining accurate maintenance records while ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and keeping tools and work areas clean and organised.
Requirements
Previous experience in a general maintenance, facilities, or technical maintenance role. Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a maintenance team. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and participate in emergency or on-call maintenance when required. Licenses & Qualifications: Technical certification or qualification in Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or a related trade.
Previous experience within hospitality, luxury hotels, commercial, or residential properties.
