Building. Point Partners – Midwest & Gulf Coast is seeking an FTG Account Manager I to join our growing Field Technology Group, supporting contractors throughout the Detroit territory. This role is responsible for managing and growing an assigned territory across Building. Point’s field technology portfolio, including Positioning, Reality Capture, Extended Reality, Autonomous Layout, and Site Projection solutions.

You’ll work directly with contractors to identify opportunities, develop new customer relationships, expand existing accounts, and coordinate internal technical and customer success resources throughout the sales cycle. This is a customer-facing sales role with a balanced focus on new customer acquisition, existing-account growth, territory development, and opportunity ownership.

What You’ll Do Own customer relationships, territory development, and sales performance across the assigned Detroit market. Prospect into new contractor accounts while expanding relationships and technology adoption within existing customers. Lead customer discovery, identify business needs, and develop opportunities across Building.

Point’s field technology portfolio. Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, including qualification, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and close. Coordinate with the Advanced Solutions Group on technically complex opportunities involving autonomous layout, site projection, advanced scanning, and emerging construction technologies.

Partner with the Customer Success Group to support effective post-sale handoff, training, adoption, and long-term customer success. Develop account strategies that increase customer penetration, uncover cross-sell opportunities, and strengthen long-term relationships. Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, account activity, and opportunity information within CRM.

Build relationships across contractor organizations, including field operations, VDC, project management, operations, and executive leadership.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For Strong sales, relationship-building, and territory-management skills. Ability to balance new-business development with growth and retention of an existing customer base. Ability to lead customer discovery and translate operational challenges into technology solutions. Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

Self-starter who takes ownership of results and operates effectively in a remote territory environment. Ability to collaborate with technical, customer success, and operational teams throughout the customer lifecycle. Professional, consultative approach with the ability to build credibility with field and executive stakeholders.

Preferred Background Experience in construction technology, construction equipment, software, field technology, or B2B solution sales. Familiarity with contractor workflows across layout, surveying, VDC/BIM, field operations, reality capture, or project execution.

Experience selling to general contractors, MEP contractors, specialty contractors, or other construction organizations. Previous experience managing a geographic sales territory. Construction industry experience is preferred but not required for candidates with a strong track record of consultative B2B sales.

$41,200

  • Commission: Uncapped
  • Estimated OTE: $115,000–$135,000+ Because commissions are uncapped, high-performing Account Managers have the opportunity to exceed the stated OTE range. This role includes a defined growth path based on territory performance, sales competency, account development, technology expertise, and increasing responsibility within the Field Technology Group.
