Golf Maintenance

Apes Hill Resort Inc., a world premier golf resort and community, is seeking to recruit highly dynamic and motivated individuals to join our Golf Maintenance Operations team in the following positions. Candidates MUST indicate which position they are applying for before submitting their application.

1. Golf Course General Worker The Golf Course General Worker will be responsible for completing various tasks around the property to assist with the preparation, upkeep and maintenance of the Golf Course and its surrounding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Performs golf course maintenance tasks including but not limited to fertilization, hand watering, aerification, mowing and raking of bunkers. Maintains grounds which includes string trimming grass, weeding and planting flowers or new grass. Inspects and repairs damages to the Course. Plants, maintains and harvests vegetables, herbs and fruits for use on property.

Assists in the Plant Nursery operations.

Qualifications

& Competencies: A minimum of four CXC or GCE “O” level subjects. A minimum of one (1) years’ work experience in a similar role. Ability to pay close attention to detail and work with little to no supervision. 2. Grinding Technician The Grinding Technician will be responsible for maintaining the sharpness of all cutting tools and equipment so as to ensure that maintenance of the Company's Golf Course and its landscaping remain at the expected quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures effective troubleshooting of grinding machinery to ensure the best grinding results. Services and completes basic repairs to all equipment. Completes a daily inspection of the quality cut for all equipment in use. Maintains an active record of all cutting heights of the various golf course areas. Develops a grinding schedule for all cutting machinery.

Oversees work done by assistant / assigned associates. Complies with all Health & Safety Company policies and procedures and legal requirements.

Qualifications

& Competencies: Completion of a basic Secondary education with at least a minimum of three (3) CXC or GCE “O” level subjects. A minimum of one (1) years' experience in a similar capacity. Sound knowledge of landscaping and hand and power tool operations. Understanding of precision grinding and safety procedures. Ability to read and understand blueprints and interpret manufacturers specifications. 3. Mechanic The Mechanic will be responsible for providing support to the Golf Course Maintenance operation by maintaining preventative maintenance programs and providing routine service on maintenance equipment, diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems and completing preventative and routine maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Carries out mechanical repairs to equipment, machines and company vehicles. Performs welding and fabrication tasks, grinding operations on reel and rotary mowers. Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in various golf course maintenance equipment. Overhauls automotive and other power equipment including but not limited to engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, springs and mufflers.

Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Detects deficiencies in equipment and performs routine maintenance. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

Qualifications

& Competencies: Relevant Certification in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics or related subject area from a recognized tertiary institution. A minimum of three (3) years' experience working in a related field. Knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses. Knowledge of hand and power tool operations.

Experience and exposure with the care and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment.
