Certified Nurses Aide

What You'll Do

As a PRN certified nurses aide at Minden Medical Center, you'll support the nursing team by helping patients with day-to-day care so their needs are met safely and respectfully.

Key responsibilities include

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Communicate observations and patient needs promptly to licensed nursing staff
• Help maintain a safe, professional environment and follow facility policies
• Float to other units when not needed in your home department and take on-call duty as needed

Required qualifications:

• Current CNA Certification or Patient Care Tech required
• One year of hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• AHA BLS preferred

A Typical Shift

Your shift starts by getting report and orienting to the unit's pace. You'll spend the day moving between patient rooms, staying attentive to comfort, routines, and safety, and checking in frequently with the nurse you're paired with. Because this is PRN, your schedule may change week to week, and you may be asked to float or be on call-so you'll stay flexible and ready to step in where help is most needed. Throughout the shift, you'll keep communication steady, document as required, and wrap up by handing off key updates before heading out.
