Graphic Designer & Sales | In-Service Training

THE OPPORTUNITY An established signage and print business in Durban North is offering a one-year in-service training position to a graphic design graduate who wants to build a career on both the creative and commercial sides of the industry. You will design print-, laser- and CNC-ready artwork. You will also work directly with clients, prepare quotations and see jobs through production to delivery.

Successful candidates may be offered permanent employment at the end of the contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consult with clients, understand their requirements and manage their accounts
• Prepare quotations and cost estimates
• Design print-ready, laser-ready and CNC-ready artwork
• Calculate artwork sizing, material use and media nesting for each job
• Coordinate with the production team to schedule and complete jobs
• Check quality and make sure deadlines are mete Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• A relevant qualification in Graphic Design
• A portfolio showing design work, vector layouts and print-ready artwork (mandatory)
• A strong commercial understanding, including artwork sizing, material calculations, media nesting and job costing
• Available to start immediately
• Advantageous: experience in print, wide-format printing, signage, CNC or laser cutting, or a similar production environment THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
