Job description
Our client, one of Malta's leading companies in the furniture and interiors industry, is looking to recruit a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who takes pride in producing high-quality craftsmanship and enjoys working on bespoke furniture and interior projects.
The successful candidate will contribute to the manufacture, assembly, installation, and finishing of premium woodwork while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture, assemble, and install custom furniture, cabinetry, and interior woodwork according to technical drawings and specifications. Measure, cut, shape, and finish timber and other materials using a variety of woodworking tools and machinery. Carry out on-site installations while ensuring precision, functionality, and excellent workmanship.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards and client expectations. Collaborate with designers, technical staff, and production teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment while following company health and safety procedures.
Requirements
Previous experience as a carpenter, joiner, or cabinet maker within the furniture or interiors industry. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and a professional approach when working on client sites. A proactive attitude with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Licenses & Qualifications Valid Maltese driving licence. Vocational qualification or certification in Carpentry, Joinery, or a related trade is an asset.
Experience operating woodworking machinery and power tools. Knowledge of furniture manufacturing techniques and finishing processes. Familiarity with workplace health and safety practices. Basic understanding of technical drawings and workshop production processes.
