Audit Senior (Malta based candidates only)

Our client, a well-established professional services firm, is looking for an Audit Senior to join its Audit and Assurance team in Malta. The successful candidate will work alongside Audit Managers and Partners on a diverse portfolio of audit assignments, while contributing to team development and strengthening their technical expertise.

Recruiting applicants currently based in Malta, with a relevant accountancy qualification and an interest in audit and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Audit Managers with audit planning and the assessment of potential risk areas. Conduct statutory audits of financial statements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing and applicable accounting standards. Prepare financial statements in line with IFRS, GAPSME, and GAPEE requirements. Coordinate audit assignments and oversee the work of audit teams.

Review and provide constructive feedback on work completed by Audit Assistants. Maintain effective client relationships and manage client communications throughout audit engagements. Support the continuous development of junior team members by strengthening their technical knowledge and audit skills.

Requirements

Previous experience in an auditing role. A Master's degree in Accountancy, a degree in Accountancy or an equivalent qualification, or ACCA qualification. Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting standards. Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and spoken English. A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to coordinate assignments and communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
