• PART TIME Work Location: Pilgrims Garden Shopping Center; Drexel Hill FLSA: Non-Exempt / Part time (20 hours per week) Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Purpose: The Retail Associate supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of the thrift store, helping to ensure a welcoming shopping environment, excellent customer service & efficient store operations. This position is responsible for sales, donation processing, inventory, volunteer coordination and administrative functions. The Retail Associate supports the mission of DAP by providing supportive interaction with community members, donors, and victims of domestic violence.

Essential Duties

Customer Service & Sales Welcome customers, donors and consigners by providing friendly & professional service, answering questions, and assisting with purchasing decisions. Process customer transactions accurately using the store’s point-of-sale system. Assist donors & consigners with questions acknowledgements and consignment documentation Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked sales floor to support a positive shopping experience Assist the store manager and management team with planning and implementing store promotions Store Operations & Inventory Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures as needed Monitors drop off dock by processing, sorting & pricing donations in a timely and efficient manner.

Assist with inventory management, merchandise quality control, scheduled inventory audits and seasonal store changeovers Assist with preparing & submitting end-of-month sales reports & other operational records as needed Identify operational needs and provide support to help maintain efficient store procedures. Volunteer Coordination & Support Assist with coordinating volunteer activities Responsible for training, scheduling & supervision of volunteers in collaboration with the store manager.

Track volunteer hours and prepare monthly reports for the main office, as needed Administrative and Organizational Responsibilities Create & edit photographs/videos for social media to promote store merchandise, activities and sales in collaboration with the store manager and main office Complete and submit accurate timesheets by established deadlines Participate in organizational wide staff meetings and other required meetings (as needed) Provide administrative assistance and other operational support as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications & Competencies 2+ years of previous retail experience preferred Excellent verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Ability to operate or quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system Ability to work well with others and uphold a psychologically safe environment Maintain confidentiality and earn respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite preferred Ability to multitask in an ever-changing environment Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a retail store environment.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged period of standing & walking in the retail space Physical ability to move or transport donations, supplies and inventory weighing up to 25 pounds, potentially while ascending or descending stairs Other Requirements: Must be able to work up to 20 hours per week, including weekends.
