Communications Assistant

Summary The Communications Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the organization's external and internal messaging strategies. This position focuses on orchestrating social media initiatives, crafting press releases, and narrating beneficiary stories to maximize humanitarian impact while fulfilling specific donor visibility obligations.

Responsibilities

Oversee social media channels, compose press releases, and author compelling stories highlighting beneficiary experiences. Amplify the organization's humanitarian achievements to satisfy donor visibility and reporting standards. Create and execute content schedules for digital platforms, while drafting and editing newsletters, case studies, impact narratives, donor updates, fact sheets, and website copy.

Secure informed consent from beneficiaries for all media assets and strictly uphold the dignity, safety, and privacy of individuals featured in communications. Guarantee that all materials, events, and project sites adhere to donor branding, visibility, acknowledgment, and marking protocols. Cultivate and sustain relationships with journalists and media outlets, facilitating media engagements and ensuring comprehensive event coverage.

Collaborate with program, MEAL, and field teams to collect precise data, information, and testimonials for communication deliverables. Track social media engagement metrics, audience reach, and media coverage, preparing regular analytics reports. Manage the central repository of approved communication assets, brand guidelines, and standardized templates.

Assist with internal communications, advocacy initiatives, and public awareness events. Execute additional tasks as delegated by the direct supervisor.
