Polishing & Squaring Manager

A leading international industrial group, one of the world's major manufacturers of ceramic and porcelain tiles, is seeking to appoint a Polishing & Squaring Manager for one of its flagship manufacturing plants in Egypt. The company is part of one of Egypt's largest industrial groups, employing approximately 10,000 people .

Its state-of-the-art ceramic manufacturing facility employs more than 1,800 professionals , producing ceramic and porcelain tiles for both the domestic market and numerous international markets. Over recent years, the company has made substantial investments in the latest ceramic manufacturing technologies, automation, robotics and digital printing, creating one of the most advanced production facilities in the region.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Polishing & Squaring Manager to lead all polishing and squaring operations, ensuring high-quality surface finishing that meets customer requirements while maximising first-grade yield and minimising breakage and rework. This role is responsible for optimising polishing, lappato, and squaring processes, reducing finishing defects, and ensuring efficient production through close collaboration with the Quality and Maintenance teams.

Main Responsibilities Lead all polishing and squaring operations, ensuring consistent surface quality and compliance with product specifications. Manage polishing, lappato, and squaring processes to achieve optimal product quality. Control abrasive sequence, spindle speed, and applied pressure according to product requirements.

Reduce and control finishing defects, including surface scratches, gloss variation, edge chipping, and flatness deviations. Monitor gloss level and tile flatness, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Improve first-grade yield and reduce tile breakage across polishing and squaring lines. Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure accurate sorting and grading.

Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of polishing and squaring equipment. Train operators on machine operation and finishing best practices. Ensure compliance with HSE standards and prepare accurate production and performance reports.

Requirements

15–20 years' experience in the ceramic and porcelain tile manufacturing industry. Extensive experience as Polishing & Squaring Manager Proven track record managing large-scale ceramic manufacturing plants. Strong technical expertise.
