Public Health Educator
Job description
Are you energized by the need to find creative solutions to pressing health challenges? You can contribute to Kenya’s national health priorities and programs by working alongside committed Kenyan health workers. Kenya faces significant health challenges including high HIV prevalence; low uptake of maternal, newborn, and child health services; and persistent malaria transmission.
Many communities experience gaps in health literacy, limited access to facility-based services, stigma surrounding HIV and tuberculosis (TB), weak referral systems, and insufficient data for decision making. Health providers and communities often need strengthened capacity to deliver accurate health information, improve preventive behaviors, and support early treatment.
As a Public Health Educator, you will work alongside dedicated county health center staff, community health promoters, and community partners to improve health outcomes in HIV and TB education, reduce stigma, decrease mother to child transmission (PMTCT), improve neonatal care, prevent malaria, and improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH).
By teaching data skills, you will help reinforce the capacity of health systems and empower communities to adopt healthier behaviors. Over time, these efforts will contribute to stronger referral pathways, more effective health facilities, improved disease surveillance, and sustained community ownership of health interventions for more equitable, higher‑quality, and resilient health services for all.
