Concrete Construction Internship

Metro Pavers, Inc., is a local, family owned and operated paving company that has been in business since 1966. As part of our ongoing commitment to support those entering the workforce, we are excited to offer A Concrete Construction Internship.

We are seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to join our team for a summer internship. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in concrete paving. You will experience the daily operation of a paving company. Careers in concrete paving include, Paving Superintendent, 3D Total Station Technician, Equipment/Paver Operator, Project Manager, Area Manager (Batch Plant Manager), as well as Concrete Finishers, mechanic, and CDL Drivers.

Wage: $19.00/hr May 20 – August 16, 2024 M-F, with occasional Saturdays possible The internship will include, but is not limited to : Classroom instruction Field training – includes, but not limited to Equipment operation Reading plans Pre-paving setup Concrete finishing Handwork 3D Leica technology Safety Training Complete job description is provided at the interview or upon request.

Qualifications

and Education Requirements Construction Management students preferred. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the start date. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States (Metro Pavers uses e-verify) Must have strong work ethics, be reliable, honest, detail orientated, well organized and a self-starter.

Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug test. Physical Requirements The physical requirements outlined below reflect the necessary skills and abilities. Standing, climbing, and/or walking for extended periods. Lifting 50 Lbs. on a regular basis Being exposed to outdoor elements (hot/cold weather, noise, rain, dust, etc.) for extended periods. Occasionally working from levels over 4 feet from the ground (such as a ladder)
