Head of Science & Biology Teacher (IGCSE & A-Level)

We are seeking, on behalf of our client an experienced and enthusiastic (Head of Science & Biology Teacher) to lead the Science Department while delivering high-quality Biology lessons at IGCSE and A-Level.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Science Department: Ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Teach Biology: Deliver engaging lessons at IGCSE and A-Level. Curriculum Planning: Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources. Student Progress Monitoring: Provide timely feedback to students and parents. Exam Preparation: Ensure strong academic outcomes in Pearson examinations.

Mentor Teachers: Support and guide science teachers within the department. Laboratory Safety: Maintain a safe and effective laboratory learning environment. School Initiatives: Participate in curriculum planning, departmental improvement, and whole-school activities. Professional Development: Attend meetings, training, and school events.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Science Education, or related field (minimum requirement). Teaching Qualification such as TKT or equivalent. Experience teaching Biology at IGCSE and A-Level. Pearson Curriculum Knowledge (other international curricula is an advantage). English Proficiency, both written and spoken. Leadership Experience in managing or leading a department.

Classroom Management and organisational skills. Passion for Education and academic excellence.
