Job description
About the company Taste Labs is building the data and infrastructure layer for taste. Our goal is to end AI slop. To make AI feel right, not just be correct. We raised $18.5M in seed co-led by Amplify and CRV, and most frontier labs are already customers. AI has nailed objective domains and can generate anything. The hard part left is judgement: what fits, what feels like you, what's actually GREAT.
We're turning that into something measurable, starting with design. We do it on two sides: building the post-training data and RL environments that teach taste to frontier models, and the context and verification tools agents need to produce work that's more creative, more on-brand, more right. If that problem excites you, you'll like it here!
About the role
A model is only as good as the people teaching it. Our Taste. Makers are those people, and the best ones are rare and hard to find. You’ll own figuring out how to find them. Working directly with our Product Leads, you’ll map creative talent markets, find untapped communities, and test new ways to reach exceptional people.
Then you’ll turn what works into a repeatable engine. Part growth strategist, part researcher, part SDR, part operator. Types of problems you’d work on
- Map where exceptional creative talent lives, and how to reach people who aren’t looking
- Build sourcing strategies from scratch for our hardest-to-fill roles
- Test platforms, tools, messaging and outreach to find what actually works
- Build targeted lists and outreach that people actually respond to
- Move Taste. Makers from first contact to completed assessment, fast
- Turn experiments into playbooks, automations and workflows so every new search starts ahead of the last
- Track channel performance and downstream quality, and double down on what works What matters to us
- Outbound experience: 1 - 2 years in sourcing, growth, sales development or a similar outbound-heavy role. You’ve worked toward aggressive targets and know how to diagnose what’s not working
- Research instincts: you’re curious and resourceful, and good at finding what isn’t obvious
- Strategic thinking: you don’t just run a playbook. You question assumptions, spot patterns and test hypotheses
- High urgency: you move fast, follow up faster, and don’t let things sit
- Startup DNA: you start from a problem, not instructions. No such thing as ‘not in scope’. You’ll be given a lot of room to run
- Team player: you work well across product, ops, design and research, and bring people along
- AI forward: you use AI tools to research, automate the repetitive work and operate faster Bonus points
- You’re genuinely into creative work and have an eye for what’s great
- You’ve built sourcing or growth strategies for niche, hard-to-reach audiences
- Background in human data, recruiting, marketplaces or creative industries
