Private Physician — Personal Physician Appointment — Abu Dhabi

A discreet vacancy exists with a private family in Abu Dhabi for a UK & European-trained Private Physician for a long-term, in-residence appointment. Once the household moves on to the Côte d'Azur for the summer, you continue the same precise routine of clinical assessment abroad. Our part is to introduce and verify the private physician; after that the contract is between you and the family alone.

Requirements

The essential foundation is a medical degree and current registration as a family medicine physician (GP), recognised across UK and European systems. 2 years spent in clinical practice is required, assessed through references and a structured interview. We consider only UK or European training for the private physician post, checked against the issuing body.

Excellent spoken and written English is required, and nothing about the family leaves the household. Extended periods away from Abu Dhabi are part of the post, so flexibility is assessed at interview. Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Benefits

£218,000 a year gross. The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances. Free accommodation provided by the family. Medical insurance covered. Professional indemnity insurance is not included; the clinician arranges their own cover.

The appointment is long-term, with a stable contract, with continuity for both sides. You sign the private physician contract directly with the family, and its terms are agreed before you travel.
